PlayStation chief Jim Ryan spoke out against Microsoft’s offer to PlayStation regarding the Call of Duty franchise, calling it ‘inadequate on many levels.’ This statement comes after, in his own words, “Microsoft has only offered for Call of Duty to remain on PlayStation for three years after the current agreement between Activision and Sony ends.”

Activision Blizzard, the company that makes Call of Duty, is reportedly in negotiations with Microsoft to make their game an Xbox exclusive once its contract with Sony ends. The timeline on this deal is unclear, but it is speculated that Sony’s agreement will end in the next two to three years, with Microsoft’s offer to make Call of Duty, the biggest console franchise in the world, an Xbox exclusive.
Regulators across the industry are examining this possibility and attempting to determine whether or not it would have irreversible detrimental effects on console gaming. Essentially, the argument is over how powerful Call of Duty really is. Sony has urged Microsoft to think about the fans, and calls Call of Duty impossible to rival, and, “a gaming category on its own.”

Microsoft argues that it is less impactful than Sony claims. That’s probably why they spent $68.7 Billion to acquire it. In the meantime, the Nintendo Switch is outselling both of them, without Call of Duty.
Exactly. Nintendo switch has exactly zero call of duty (which sucks cos I’d like one there) and is outselling both systems easily. https://t.co/QBWUL9LkCL

Sony really needs to learn how to standalone on its own two feet. Being dependent on the COD franchise ain't it, chief. Look at Nintendo and the Switch. It's still selling Gangbusters without Madden and COD. lol. Splatoon, Smash, & Pokémon fulfills Nintendo players' online needs. https://t.co/uagh5CfKn8
